Police performance
It is the Performance Committee that carries out the main part of the Police Authority’s statutory duty to ensure an effective and efficient police force for Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The seven members of the Authority on the Performance Committee meet formally with the Constabulary four times per year to scrutinise the force performance profile, published by the Constabulary, and other performance-related reports.
Recent issues for discussion have included sanction detections, the national data quality audit (DQA), the control strategy on knife and other violent crime, call handling, stop and search/stop and account data and the Force’s records management system, RMS.
In addition to the formal meetings, Police Authority’s members and the Authority’s performance officer attend many of the Force’s working groups on performance issues.
