Members

Each of the Authority's 17 members serves in four-year terms. The membership is comprised as follows:

nine members are councillors appointed to reflect the political balance of Portsmouth and Southampton unitary authorities and Hampshire and the Isle of Wight county councils taken as a whole;
eight are independent members of the public who are appointed following a rigorous selection process.
