NQT Induction

Part-time NQTs

Part-time NQTs must cover the same number of sessions as a full-time NQT, and this is calculated pro-rata.  All NQTs must serve a minimum of 195 working days.  To calculate how long the induction for a part-time NQT will last, divide 195 by their part-time proportion - e.g. for an NQT on a 0.6 (60%) contract, divide 195 by 0.6 = 325.  So in this example the duration of the NQT's induction will be 325 working days or 65 working weeks (including days on which the NQT does not work).    Where possible, in the charts below we have adjusted the dates slightly to tie in with term or half-term dates.
